Check-in: 5:00 AM

Departure: 6:00 AM

Return: approximately 5:00 PM

We’re going to have a full day of opportunities — yellowtail, calico bass, barracuda, rockfish, a shot at halibut and white seabass, and whatever else decides to show up. It’s looking like a fun mixed bag day.

A few gear notes to help you get ready:

• We’ll be trying to snag mackerel for live bait for the yellowtail, so Sabiki rigs are a great idea.

• Light surface irons have been working well (Teddy 45 in blue/white and bird-poop colors especially).

• Rods & reels: a 25 lb outfit and a 40 lb outfit will cover you nicely.

• Terminal tackle (per Capt. Daniel Hadawi):
• 20–30 lb fluoro
• ½ oz – 1½ oz sliding sinkers
• 6, 10, 12, and 16 oz torpedo sinkers
• J-hooks in sizes 4, 2, 1, 1/0, and 4/0
