🎣 Estella Doubleheader Fri 9/18! Yellowtail & Calicos w/ Capt. Hadawi — AM + Twilight Friedman
Adventures is on the Estella out of Hooks Landing in Oxnard this Friday, September 18 — morning half-day AND twilight.
Morning half-day: leave 8:00 AM, fish until 4:00 PM
Twilight: depart 5:30 PM, return 10:30 PM
Captain Daniel Hadawi says the morning plan is yellowtail and calico bass. That’s where he’s putting most of his attention. If those fish won’t play, the fallback is rockfish. Either way, it should be a fun day on the water.
The Estella was out recently and put limits of nice calico bass on the rail. They went 0-for-4 on the bigger yellowtail and even lost a dorado on a kelp — so the quality fish are around. We just have to stick one.
Daniel already gave everyone a tackle list. Add this to it: bring Sabiki rigs. There are bait shortages everywhere. Every mackerel we snag can turn into a yellowtail bite or a big calico. Those Sabikis could be the difference between a good day and a great one.
