El Niño 2026 is Already Exploding — Old Glory Kicks Off an Epic Start with Yellowfin & Dorado! 🎣🔥

What a morning on the water, folks. This El Niño 2026 is waking up the ocean in a big way, and from everything we’re seeing, this is only the beginning of a whole lot more to come.

Captain Kley Williams and the crew on the Old Glory put together a solid day: 55 yellowfin tuna, 2 Dorado, 4 skipjack, and 1 yellowtail. Beautiful weather and fish all around — exactly the kind of day that gets you fired up for what’s ahead.

Over on the Producer they were also getting after it offshore, starting the day with 90 yellowfin and 15 Dorado. Limits of Dorado already in the books. The bite is on.

Bait continues to be a bit of a headache like it has been. Sometimes you get those big sardines and the fish want nothing to do with them. Other times you’ve got small anchovies that will get bit… if you can find ones that actually want to swim. Most of these fish are in the 4- to 8-pound class right now, so scaling down is helping a lot. Fifteen-pound test with a #4 or #6 hook and a lively little anchovy has been a great way to get the job done.

Captain Kley also shared a solid tip that’s been working especially well with the bait shortages: Colt Snipers and Mega Baits in the 40- to 60-gram range have been flat-out effective today — in many cases outperforming the bait.

This is the kind of start that makes you believe we’re in for a special season. El Niño is delivering early, and we feel like the best is still ahead of us. Keep those rods ready, friends.
