Amigo Delivers Monster Catches at San Clemente Island – 30 lb White Seabass & Big Yellowtail!

The Amigo from 22nd Street Landing in San Pedro had an outstanding day at San Clemente Island on the Fourth of July. Captain Jeff Yoemans and the 540 Slingers Club charter put 15 anglers on some excellent fishing.

By early afternoon they had 14 yellowtail in the 20–30 lb class, a 30 lb white seabass, and 20 calico bass on deck. San Clemente Island continues to produce strong action, with many bites starting well before sunrise. Anglers are scoring on dropper loops, yo-yo iron, fly-lined bait, and surface iron throughout the day.

Pro tip: When fishing dropper loops or yo-yo iron, step up to heavier line — 40 lb is recommended, and you can go as heavy as 50 lb.

It was an excellent signal on the 4th of July aboard the Amigo!
