Schmidt Family & Anglers Crush White Seabass at Cedros Island – Incredible Bite Continues

The Schmidt family just put together an absolute banner day of white seabass fishing at Cedros Island with Captain Eulalio and Cedros Sportfishing BCM. Needless to say… they had an incredible day on the water.

Cedros Island in Baja California, Mexico has long been famous for some of the best yellowtail fishing on the planet. But lately the white seabass bite has been even more spectacular. Anglers fishing Cedros are experiencing true world-class white seabass action right now.

Rosie Flowers from Cedros Adventures shared the Schmidt family’s success along with another strong report from angler AG Kellog, who has been fishing with Cedros Outdoor Adventures aboard the Fresh One with Captain Oliver.

AG reported that conditions started rough. On Monday the swell was running 4–8 feet with 20 mph winds — almost unfishable — and the boat went without a bite. Tuesday turned on nicely with yellowtail under the bird schools that were eating surface irons. By Wednesday the yellows under the birds got pickier on surface irons and yo-yos but still chewed trolled Rapalas. After a few hours of that, the boat moved in tight to the island and switched to white seabass. AG landed a new personal best at 42 pounds while another angler on the boat scored a 46-pounder. Later that same day AG connected with the big fish of the day — a beautiful 61-pound white seabass.

Yellowtail are still very much in the mix at Cedros, but the real bonus has been this outstanding white seabass bite. The fish are there, the action is strong, and the opportunity for a true trophy is real.
