120 LB YELLOWFIN IN U.S. WATERS! 🔥 Aris Ford • Swift & Salty Invincible

This is a special one.

Ron Kwan and the Swift & Salty crew just put a 120-pound yellowfin tuna on the deck of their 40-foot Invincible out of Huntington Harbor — and they did it in U.S. waters.

The fish was caught by their client Aris Ford. They hooked up in the bottom of the ninth on the last bait of the day, right before sunset. That tuna ripped 100 yards of line on the first run and it took the clients nearly an hour to get it to the boat.

They had already landed several yellowfin in the 40- to 50-pound range that day, so they had a hunch it was another yellowfin. About 45 minutes into the fight they started having doubts — this one was clearly a lot bigger than the 50-pounders they had just boxed. Then they saw those long sickles as the fish spiraled up from the deep. That’s when they knew they had something special.

Ron has caught plenty of big yellowfin down in Puerto Vallarta. He never thought they would catch a local triple-digit yellowfin right here in Southern California. He called it one of those fish he’ll never forget.
