Amigo Boat Dorado on Blind Jig – El Niño 2026 Bite Starting? 🎣🔥

The Amigo out of 22nd Street Landing in San Pedro, California, scored a beautiful Dorado this morning on a blind jig strike. That’s the kind of magic that happens when you’re just trolling along and a fish comes out of nowhere and smashes the jig.

With a strong El Niño building this year, warmer water is pushing north along the California coast — exactly the conditions Dorado love. This early catch feels like it could be an omen of things to come. Back in 2022, during a powerful El Niño, Southern California saw one of the best Dorado runs in recent memory. Fishermen were catching limits of these hard-fighting, delicious fish right off our local waters.
