California spiny lobster season opens Friday, October 2 at 6 p.m. Three nights before the first pull, Andrew from Stoked On Fishing is running a free hoop-net seminar at Big Fish Bait & Tackle in Seal Beach.

Seminar starts at 6:00 p.m.

Come early at 5:30 p.m. — Phil Friedman and Anthony from Mad Dog Custom Rods will already be set up and live.

Andrew will walk you through how to rig your hoop nets, what to look for on the fishfinder, where to set, Fish and Wildlife rules, how to use a lobster gauge the right way, bait, safety, and how to put more legal bugs in the boat. Grab a cup of coffee, shake hands with Andrew, Phil, and Anthony, and shop the store while you are there. Hoop nets, gauges, bait, and season gear will be on the shelves.
