The next Friedman Adventures Surf Fishing Festival is Saturday, October 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the corner of Anderson Street and Pacific Coast Highway in Sunset Beach, California. Everyone is invited. This one is sponsored by Big Fish Bait and Tackle in Seal Beach — your surf fishing headquarters.

These mornings are special. A lot of nice people and a lot of families come out just to enjoy the beach and a few hours of surf fishing with the Friedman Adventures crew. Some folks show up for a doughnut and coffee. Some come to meet the Venture Family. Some just want a walk on the sand. Some come for the raffle, which we will hold at 11:45 a.m. All of that is welcome. This is a free event.

It has been a crazy El Niño year. You might hook a Sierra mackerel. Somebody might even surprise us with a roosterfish. We might see a sea turtle come ashore. None of that is a promise — but the ocean has been full of visitors, and that is part of the fun. One thing we can promise: we are going to have a really great time.

Stop by Big Fish Bait and Tackle in Seal Beach first and pick up what you need for a good morning on the sand. Then come hang with the Friedman Adventures crew.

And we are not going to discourage anyone from wearing a Halloween costume. Spooky good times await.
